Don’t Leaf Me Hanging…

As you all know, it’s Autumn and the leaves are changing, and well, falling, and so we decided to collect some of this fallen beauty and make some art! All you need  are some different kinds of leaves, watercolors, paint brushes, watercolor paper, pens and some patience. You can begin by collecting leaves and placing them on a piece of paper {preferably watercolor paper so it doesn’t wrinkle}. After they are in place, you paint around the leaf “leafing” the negative space behind. You could just simply hang it up and never think about it again or you could take a black, water based pen and trace the inside like we did.

It’s a really fun and easy project and study of color, shapes and negative space!
