Sugar, is that you?

Want to make a sugar rainbow? Density is your friend!

6 bowls, 1 cup of water in each. 6 colors and a box of Domino sugar cubes, a pipette and a vial… Ready? Here we go….. Add in sugar cubes in increasing amounts to each bowl. (See photo). Then stir until dissolved. Once complete, use the pipette to GENTLY suck up the water from the bowl with the highest density (the most sugar) and carefully squeeze it into the vial. Continue up the line of bowls and soon you will have a beautiful rainbow – the densest on the bottom of the vial, the least dense (in this case the one with NO sugar) on top.

Sweet, right?
