Color, Color, Everywhere!

Learning about color through Playdough. We started with 5 colors: red, yellow, blue, black and white.

All colors start with red, blue and yellow as the primary colors. By mixing them further and further together, you end up with secondary and tertiary colors. Now comes the fun part. Add in pure white and pure black to each of the primary colors, then 50% white and black (grey) and you get tints and shades of each color. All together, you can get a full gradation of color – the purer the color, the more chromatic it will be, the more white or black the less saturated/chromatic. A great, hands on way to use Playdough to learn about color!
