How Many Parts?

About twice a week we do an activity called “How Many Parts”. Have you ever noticed how many parts are in every day objects? First we choose our items from around the house then we draw or trace them (depending on how big they are). After that, we examine or take apart the item we chose and find all of the parts to it. The screwdriver shown below had a surprising amount – TEN parts and processes in just a single screwdriver!!! This helps us appreciate all the work that goes into making things that we buy.

We also love to watch the show called How It’s Made… it’s the same thing we talk about they actually show how things are manufactured. So COOL!!
