Today for math we went to the kitchen. The girls chose to make Gluten Free Pretzels as the project and the math part was incorporated by halving the recipe. How much is 1/2 of 1 & 1/2 cups of water? Half of 2 tblsp.? You get the idea. We learned something new when the recipe called for taking the uncooked pretzels and cooking them for 30 seconds in boiling water and baking soda. Browner end product, seemed saltier to us once complete. The outcome was a bit bland but delicious. We decided to include an image of the parchment paper after the pretzels were cooked – everyone was just delighted by the original art the process created!
